Congratulations MVP Ocelots!
We’re proud to share that Mountain View Preparatory was recognized as a Distinguished School, achieving the highest Grades 3-8 English Language Arts and Math Proficiency scores among all public district schools in the Verde Valley and ranking fourth overall in Yavapai County.
This incredible achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of our students, staff, and families. Way to go, Ocelots! 🐾

Our amazing 7th graders had the incredible opportunity to embark on a field trip to the stunning Grand Canyon! From breathtaking views to hands-on learning experiences, our students explored the geology, flora, and fauna of this natural wonder.
The trip was not only a chance to witness the beauty of nature but also to bond with classmates and create lasting memories. We are so proud of our students for their enthusiasm and curiosity!

Thank you, Danielle, for inspiring our students to dig into great stories this summer!

From planning activities to teaching their classmates, our learners are showing what it means to be risk-takers, communicators, and knowledgeable thinkers. We are so proud of the leadership, teamwork, and enthusiasm they are bringing to the classroom each day.

In Spanish class, we’ve been learning about the meaning behind Cinco de Mayo, including the history of the Battle of Puebla.
Our 1st graders have been exploring Hispanic heritage while also getting creative—building their very own taco crafts! Learning and fun make the perfect combination.

✨ A PERSONAL THANK YOU ✨
Hello from MVP's After-School Coordinator, Zack Jernigan! 👋
…although you might not know me as Zack anymore 😄
Back in September 🍂, before the very first day of clubs, I introduced myself to a classroom full of kindergartners and told them my name was Dragon 🐉. By the next day, half the school was calling me Mr. Dragon — and it stuck!
Now I’m Mr. Dragon everywhere 😂 — at the grocery store 🛒, at Goodwill 🏬, at local restaurants 🍔🍕 — anywhere MVP students see me. And honestly? Hearing a kiddo shout “Hi, Mr. Dragon!” 💬 makes my day every single time 💛
Yesterday, I walked into my office totally focused on the last day of Clubs 🎉. Our amazing librarian, Mrs. McDowell 📚, asked what I thought of the artwork that the equally amazing 2nd-grade teacher, Mrs. Bivanco 🍎, had put up on my wall.
“Huh…?” 🤔
I looked up… and WOW. 😲
To say I was stunned and delighted doesn’t even come close. I have rarely felt so appreciated 💖 It was such a powerful reminder of the kindness, thoughtfulness, and support I experience every single day at MVP 🌟
Being MVP’s After-School Coordinator has truly changed my life 🙏
Thank you to everyone — students 👧🧒, parents & guardians 👨👩👧, teachers 🍎, staff 💼, and of course our incredible Club Leaders 🎨⚽📖 — for everything you do to support me and our program.
Our students are so lucky… and honestly, so are we 💫
❤️
— Mr. Dragon 🐉

Students focused on engineering and design, making sure their rockets were built correctly and tested successfully. Through hands-on learning, they explored how changes in design can impact speed, stability, and flight performance.
What an exciting way to bring science to life! Middle schoolers at Mountain View Preparatory had a blast in science class launching their rockets while studying force and motion and how they work together!

Last Thursday was our MVP After-School Showcase Night! So many people came out to see our amazing Cheer performance, shoot at our indoor Archery range, tumble on our Gymnastics mats, try out a Ukulele, and twirl Flowstars — not to mention enjoy hotdogs and tater tots from our amazing good services crew! Thank you for all your support this year. We'll see you this week for our last four days of clubs!
