Mrs. Romey’s 7th grade scientists took learning on the road with a field trip to the Science Vortex—and it was eye-opening in the best way!
Students dove into hands-on science by dissecting a cow eyeball, exploring each layer and learning how all the parts work together to help us see the world. From the cornea to the retina, curiosity was high and learning was unforgettable!
Messy? Yes.
Educational? Absolutely.
Fun? 100%!
Way to go, future scientists! #ScienceVortex

Our kindergarteners along with some of our other Ocelots celebrated the 100th day of school by creating projects to showcase this special milestone and dressing up, too. It was a delight to watch our little learners beam with excitement as they celebrated, learned, and proudly showed off their 100-day spirit!

🛠️🛝 Learning Beyond the Classroom: 3rd Graders Dig In! 👷♂️✨
Our 3rd grade students were full of curiosity at Mountain View Preparatory as the crew worked on replacing the slide on our campus! 👀🛝
The crew kindly took the time to answer the students’ many questions while they watched in awe of the work being done. To make the experience even more special, the crew graciously invited the students to help with the shoveling!
The students eagerly lined up and patiently waited for their turn at the shovel, turning a construction project into a memorable hands-on learning moment.
A big thank you to this amazing crew for inspiring our students and making their day—great crew indeed! 👏💙

We are proud to celebrate our IB Thinkers — students who show exceptional initiative and creativity in their learning. Our Thinkers approach challenges with curiosity, apply their thinking skills critically and creatively, and make thoughtful, ethical decisions every day.
They don’t just find answers — they seek understanding, question ideas, and work to make sense of complex problems in innovative ways.
Let’s give a big round of applause to our October IB Thinkers! Your curiosity, reasoning, and integrity inspire us all to think deeply and act wisely. Keep shining and leading the way as true IB learners!

Principal Heather Langley from Mountain View Prep is proudly sporting her Yavapai County “I VOTED” sticker today! 🗳️ Have you turned in your ballot yet? There’s still time!
If you haven’t already mailed it, be sure to drop off your ballot for the Cottonwood-Oak Creek and Mingus Union High School Special Override Election at the Yavapai County Administration Building, 10 S. 6th St., Cottonwood — today!
Every vote matters for our schools and community. ✅

This week at #MVP, we had the most amazing weather! Most of our after-school clubs — even those that meet indoors — took advantage of the situation and spent a lot of time on the playground, soaking up the good vibes.
For Sherry Davis and Becky Dennis, our Ocelot Games and Archery leaders, having fun outdoors is an every-week priority. Sherry broke out the parachute (everyone's favorite) and made the kids' day, while Becky brought pumpkins and other items to demolish with barrages of arrows.
We are so grateful to these kiddos for elevating our afternoons with laughter and joy! Thank YOU, parents and guardians, for allowing us to enjoy the wonderful weather with them!

Game, set, match! In its third week, MVP's after-school Tennis Club is swinging along nicely. Thanks to the amazingly talented Andrea Meyer, Mingus Union High School's Girls Tennis Head Coach, our students are receiving world-class instruction for free. We want to thank MUHS for allowing us (as well as Dr Daniel Bright School) to utilize their courts — thanks to this partnership, we're offering a truly innovative program to young athletes!
To see if we have additional capacity in this club for your child, please email MVP's 21st CCLC Coordinator, Zachary Jernigan, at zjernigan@cocsd.us.
